Real answers — no marketing language. If your question isn't here, call us or send a message. We respond the same day.
No. We retrofit everything into your existing setup. Smart relays go inside your current switch boxes, wireless devices clip or screw in place, and cameras run one Ethernet cable. We do not drill, do not rewire, and do not touch anything structural. Your walls stay exactly as they are.
Typically one to two days on site, depending on the size of your home and the number of automation layers. We arrive in the morning, work through the day, test everything room by room, and hand over a fully functioning system before we leave.
For the handover and final walkthrough, yes. For the full day of installation, you don't need to be present the entire time — but someone should be able to answer occasional questions about the layout and preferences. We'll arrange this with you in advance.
Yes. All electrical work — switch replacements, wiring into switchboards, anything involving mains power — is carried out by a licensed electrician we bring to every job. This is non-negotiable for us. We are IT and configuration specialists; the electrician handles everything electrical. You get both in one installation, one quote, one visit.
Both. For new builds, we design the automation system early in the process — which means cleaner cable runs, better placement, and a smarter end result. For existing homes, we retrofit everything without touching walls or structure. The consultation process is the same either way; we adapt to where you are.
Almost certainly not. Around 90% of cameras already installed in Sydney homes connect directly into our system — regardless of brand. Most existing smart home devices (lights, sensors, thermostats) can also be integrated. We assess what you have during the site visit and tell you upfront what works and what doesn't. You only replace something if it genuinely can't be integrated — and that's rare.
Yes, always. We install smart relays behind your existing switches, so the physical switch still works exactly as it always did. Automation adds a layer on top — it doesn't replace manual control. Guests, kids, anyone unfamiliar with smart home systems can still walk up and use your switches normally.
No. This is one of the biggest problems with cheap smart home setups — every device joins your WiFi network and competes for bandwidth. We use a dedicated local radio mesh for all wireless smart home devices — completely separate from your WiFi. Adding 30 devices puts zero load on your router. Cameras run on a separate wired PoE network.
We use a dedicated local wireless mesh protocol — low power, self-healing, and running on a completely separate frequency to WiFi. Each device extends the signal to the next, so the more you have, the stronger the network. It's the same underlying approach used by professional-grade smart home systems worldwide. Read more on our Ecosystem page.
Apple Home or Google Home — whichever you already use. We configure your entire system into your existing app. If you have an iPhone, it works through Apple Home and Siri. If you use Android or Google Assistant, it works through Google Home. You don't need to install anything new or learn a new interface.
We install a dedicated server inside your home that runs all automations locally. Think of it as the brain of your smart home — it sits in a cupboard, runs silently 24/7, and coordinates every device. It's pre-configured by us before we arrive, so installation is clean and fast. The system runs independently — it doesn't depend on any cloud service or our company to keep working.
No. All automations run on the server inside your home. No motion data, presence data, energy data, or camera footage is sent to any cloud server. Your home behaviour stays in your home. Remote access for your own app is handled through an encrypted tunnel — we don't store or see any of it.
On a local storage drive inside your home — not in the cloud. We use Reolink PoE cameras with an NVR (network video recorder). Footage is processed locally using AI for object detection (Frigate). Nothing is uploaded externally. You own and control every recording.
Only if you explicitly grant us access for support purposes — and you can revoke it at any time. By default, we have no access to your system after installation. Your home is yours.
No mandatory subscription. Your system runs locally without any ongoing payment. An optional extended support subscription is available if you want priority assistance, remote health checks, and system updates — but the home works fine without it.
The Smart Core foundation includes the dedicated home automation server, all configuration and programming, professional installation, system design specific to your home, and 30 days of post-install support. Automation layers (lights, cameras, climate, etc.) are priced separately and added on top. See full package details.
The price is fixed once we provide a written quote after the free site visit. The online constructor gives you a directional estimate — the exact price is confirmed after we understand your specific home layout, existing infrastructure, and chosen scenarios.
Everything keeps working. All automations run locally on the server inside your home. Lights, climate, sensors, presence detection, schedules — none of it requires internet. You only lose remote access from outside your home network, which restores the moment the connection comes back.
Your system continues to work exactly as it does today. We use open-source software and open hardware standards. There is no dependency on our company, our servers, or our continued existence. The system is yours — fully documented and fully functional without us.
Individual device failures don't bring down the whole system. The rest of your home keeps working. We use devices with open, standard wireless or PoE interfaces — if a device needs replacing, it can be swapped with any compatible device, not just our specific model. We can help troubleshoot remotely or visit on site.
30 days of post-install support is included in every package. We're available for questions, adjustments, and anything that needs tweaking after you've lived with the system for a few days. Extended 1-year support (priority assistance, health checks, updates) is available as an add-on.
Yes — the system is designed for this. You can start with Smart Core and lights, then add climate control six months later, then cameras the year after. Each new layer integrates with everything already installed. There's no need to rebuild or replace existing hardware.
